What bikes are compatible with the BRC 500cc conversion kits?
All BRC engine kits convert specific two-stroke motorcycles only. At this time, we don't offer kits for Beta, Kawasaki, Sherco, TM or any four-stroke... unless your are an experienced fabricator and have access to a donor engine from a model listed below
BRC500 MY07-16 kits fit 2007-2016 KTM 250/300 EXC/SX/XC/XCW two-strokes. This kit also fits the Husaberg with KTM engines. This kit has been successfully installed in 2005-2006 KTM 250/300 two-strokes, with minor engine mount modifications
BRC500 MY17-21 kit fits 2017-2023 KTM 250/300 EXC/SX/XC/XCW/TPi/CARB two-strokes. This also fits Husky and GasGas 250/300cc two-strokes. At this time, we don't offer a kit for 2023+ TBi bikes.
MY99+ YZM500 kits fits 1999-present Yamaha YZ250 two-strokes.
What do you use from the donor engine?
The complete transmission, clutch assy, kicker assy, water pump, intake, ignition, and covers where possible.
Will any of the 500cc kits work for a 4 stroke (4T) engine?
No, as the donor components are totally different than the 2 stroke (2T) components.
Is there a warranty?
No warranty, but we will stand behind any manufacturer defects. Since the kit relies on the customer to assemble, we cannot warranty work from a source we do not control.
Do I have to come to BRC for parts to maintain my BRC500?
No, we designed the kit to use readily available consumable components. Piston kit is Vertex Honda CR500 cast. Rod Kit is Pro-X CR500. Bearings and seals all come from KTM. All BRC gaskets are made by Cometic and can be ordered directly using your dealer.
Is EFI (electronic fuel injection) available?
The BRC500 MY17-21 kit has the TPi option. We cannot provide EFI for a previously carbureted engine.
Can BRC provide a complete engine?
No, we must have a donor engine supplied to use the internals from.
